“I live with my wife Pascale and our two children, Charles and Rachèle, in a house in the middle of the vines on the wine property of a first Grand Cru Classé in 1855 of Sauternes for which I have worked for more than ten years now”. At the time of one of our very first Sunday walks, on our arrival in the area, we had had the favorite for this old “Office of Tasting” located in the middle same of the village.

A few years later, we were likely to be able to acquire it and we then lengthily wondered about what we were going to as the crow flies do of this picturesque residence of the XVIII ème century located at a few hundred meters of on our premises.

“We were to honour this heritage, this place authentic and full with charm, formerly charged to make known the wines of Sauternes”. At this point in time had the idea not only to propose there rooms resulting from all our ideals of hotel trade and bed and breakfast but also to share there in all user-friendliness, with our hosts, our passion for the wine and the gastronomy.

We then sought a name, which we wish in report, at the same time, with the history of the places and our family history, marked a few years ago by the birth at the house of our little girl. The mayor of the village had then called it true “the Sauternaise”. We thus quite naturally chose to transmit this denomination to our House.

Sauternaise is a soft house and knack where we hope to make you find comfort soft and the friendly reception of the bed and breakfast but also the independence, the courtesy and standing expected in an upscale hotel.

“Be ensured of our listening and all our attentions to make your stay on our premises an unforgettable moment…”
